For some businesses website support is one of the most important things to have, while for others it is largely unnecessary, and business owners sometimes have difficulty figuring out which side of line they’re on. A good rule of thumb is that if your website is complex, then support is probably necessary, and if it is just static, then having a basic support contract in conjunction with your hosting products is probably all you’ll need, as if anything goes wrong it will probably be an issue with the hosting.

For complex websites, having support which is able to address complex issues is a necessity. Even if you fit this area though, there are still differences in requirements. Often times you can pay to have a faster reaction time with your support people, or even to have a dedicated support manager for your website.
